Judging Criteria
Passion for Mathematics: I’m looking for students with a genuine love and enthusiasm for mathematics. I want to know why you love this subject!
Creativity and Personality: I’m looking for students to be themselves and express themselves authentically and creatively. Last year, the best videos were all at least one of the following: well-edited, creative, funny, personal, engaging, thought-provoking
Communication Skills: I’m looking for students who can communicate their thoughts clearly and effectively – this can be done orally, but additional video elements can be a great addition to support your words.
Please note that at least 3 of the 5 awards are reserved for students who are or have previously been in receipt of FSM or a bursary.
Questions to address in the application video:
1. Who are you? Tell me about you and your experience with maths
2. Who or what inspires you?
3. How do you demonstrate your passion for mathematics outside the classroom?
